During the summer the traditional favorites such as pineapple, banana, strawberry, blueberry, and wine are readily available at reasonable prices. And, to add fruit to your daily diet provides a lot of added nutrients and energy. Plus it feels so good!

Smoothie mix is the way to really add fruit to your diet and there are so many different recipes it really possible to get bored with them. In a blender mix your smoothie:

  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup chopped bananas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup lime sorbet (sherbet)

Stir until it is the consistency you prefer. If you need to add a few ice cubes or even a splash of orange juice if too thick. The amount you add will depend if you use frozen or fresh fruit and fresh fruit ripeness.
